I fed Sintari cookies of encouragement, and she fed me an ice cream plot bunny.

Renji/Rukia

Renji was studying in the library. His shoulders ached from being hunched over the long wooden table. His white cotton shirt was rumpled, sleeves rolled up, and striped tie slightly loosened at his throat. His notes were spread out, and some books piled in stacks, while others were propped open. They all bristled with bits of paper covered in Renji’s prickly scrawl. He straightened in his seat, raising his arms and arching back so that they stretched above his shoulders and slightly behind his chair.  He stretched out a little bit more, his fingers were enveloped in a cool, soft wetness unexpectedly, and he startled and fell out of his chair.

 

From the floor he looked up at Rukia. Of course. Smirking. Of course. Long legs. Of course. Gorgeous. Of course. Eating ice cream. Of… Wait.

 

“Rukia.!” he blurted, “You freak. What are you doing! My fingers! You… ice cream! You can’t lick  people in the ice cream! Library. Ice cream people. Licking…. Just…. NO!”

 

Rukia looked down at him, unconcerned. Her ice cream was melting and she carelessly leaned over the table, glancing at his notes. Renji scrambled up, hit his elbow on the table edge and grabbed his notebook as ice cream dripped down. The cool ice cream dripped onto Renji, and he huffed as he felt the cool liquid slowly drip along the sensitive underside of his wrist. “Rukia! You… ice cream. Argh!” He transferred his book to his other hand and glared down at her.

 

“Ice cream.” Rukia agreed. And she pitched the remains of it into the open backpack left unattended at the next table. Renji gaped at her in disbelief. She reached for his arm with slightly chilled fingers, caught his eyes while she raised his now sticky wrist to her mouth. “Chocolate chip.” she added, and pressed her wet, cool open mouth against sensitive skin. After five hours of studying, the soft swipe of her tongue and stroke of her lips was overwhelming. His breath caught, and then he gasped and moaned as she slowly scraped her teeth against him, and drew her mouth away. Her lips were slightly parted, Renji unconsciously licked his own. He set his notebook back on the desk, shoving papers away from the edge and settled himself against it. Then he pulled Rukia towards him, his fingers digging into the woolen pleats on her hips. Renji groaned as he felt her lean in between his thighs. He leaned down to kiss her. She tasted sweet. Of course.

I think my favorite part was her pitching the ice cream into somebody's book bag. That filled me with so much glee. If she's in that kind of mood then Renji is definitely in for something special in the stacks. Hey... sequel?
