So eshala and I were talking the other night, continuing a conversation she had had with some other people. We were agreed that a dating deal-breaker would be a person who wasn't up for seeing bad but fun movies. And then she asked me for a list of 5 movies that fall into that category. Movies I know are bad, but watch over and over again. I blanked at the time, and couldn't think past Godzilla (any Godzilla, but especially the bad one with Matthew Broderick) but it's been nagging in the back of my head.

So.. in no particular order, and I'm not claiming they are my top or central ones..

5 Bad Movies I Love.

1. Better Off Dead/One Crazy Summer (come on, they don't actually count as two separate movies!)
2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (not the show, the movie, with Luke Perry)
3. Hudson Hawk
4. Blade (all three of them)
5. The Mummy

That's exactly the kind of terrible I love. You might be right about the Mummy not being bad. In fact, I think you are right.

hmm.... what bad movie to replace it... I've mentioned Godzilla - the Matthew Broderick one - somewhere else... it's definitely a fave.

Maybe Wind (early 90's sailing movie), which is really more cheesy than bad. Or Point Break - which I absolutely LOVE. Or Johnny Mnenomic. It's definitely got the snort in your drink factor.

My teenager hates going to movies with eshala and I, because we're always laughing, loudly, at different things than everyone else in the theatre.

I'm usually happy with a movie s'long as it has a happy-ish ending.

I'm a sucker for the happily ever after. Really. I like my bad guys dead (or off to fight another day) I like my good guys, well. Hell, they can be dead too. I just don't wanna cry about it.

Know what I mean? THere's a few movies I can't make myself watch yet cause I know I'm gonna be goo at the end.
