Anime: kid and I have been watching Vanguard this afternoon. Pretty much for the lulz. It's a mecha space anime where men and women have been living on different planets and at war with one another. And there's pirates. And lots of boobage.

Books: Started reading Guy Gavriel Kay's Under Heaven - which hasn't really hooked me yet, but I'm going to persevere and try and get more into it tomorrow. I generally really like Kay's writing; so he's got lots of goodwill banked, and I'm willing to hang on and trust that I'm feel more involved in a bit.

Comics: Finished reading Batman, No Man's Land Vol 1 a while ago, and really, really liked it. Looking forward to picking up the following volumes and reading them too.

Downward Dog: I've been re-establishing my yoga practice - working on 20 minutes each day, and I'm feeling good about it, physically and soul-wise.

Education leave: for the next week, I'm on con-ed leave, with a stack of books to pick from and a list of movies - mostly spiritual/religious documentaries I've been meaning to get around to watching.

Ford Models: had one of my kids in Toronto, and one in Las Vegas this weekend, for photo shoots. What is that even.

Ginger Spice is the colourway of yarn I'm using for the Apis Dorsata shawl - yarn I had in my stash, from about 3 years ago. I thought I had enough yardage, and it's from a friend's family's farmgate shop, and realized partway through I definitely didn't have enough wool. I'd been thinking about calling and seeing if they could send me a skein, and see how bad the colour variation was; when I found a perfectly matching skein in a LYS (local yarn store). Amazing luck, and now I can keep knitting without fretting about when I'll be running out.

Hair colouring appointment tomorrow, and I'm planning on going a bit bolder with blonde on top, and darker brown underneath.

Idris Elba is amazing in Luther. I watched the first six episodes this weekend, and fell absolutely in love with the show. The cinematography is gorgeous, I care about the characters - they are complex and the acting is so compelling to watch.

Jaenada, Oscar. He played Cougar in The Losers. And I'm beginning to develop a crush.
